Why This Particular Programme?

Unlike most of the usual scholarships provided by business houses and trusts which cater for the top students, the PWP (WA) Inc. system of scholarships has been designed to encourage children at all levels of their secondary education.

There are many average and below average students who need as much encouragement as the brilliant students, and it is with this in mind that the programme has been designed.

A school report is required to enter the programme but the emphasis on marks has been removed to some extent. A school assessment form is used so that the child’s teacher can comment on the abilities of the child without reference to marks. The new requirement to enter the F.I.T.A.P. (Family and Individual Talent Award Programme) before applying for a scholarship will allow the judged more information apart from academic results to base their selections on. An emphasis on community involvement is now part of the selection criteria. .
