Role of the Adult Activities Officer

N.B. Suitable for Job Sharing

Duties

  • Lead the discussion at the Activities Meeting once a month
  • After the meeting follow up on: outside venues-address, cost date times etc; contact people (if not present at the meeting) if a member would be willing to be a contact person for an activity; members availability of homes/dates, suitability of activity
  • Liaise with Family Activities Officer to co-ordinate activities (i.e. it's best not to have too many expensive activities on the same weekend)
  • Write up all the activities on the printed sheets provided by Head Office.
       Original-kept by self;
       Copy 1-to Head Office, 37 Hampden Rd, Nedlands 6009;
       Copy 2-to President;
       Copy 3- to Membership Secretary (to type up activities for PM Nights)
  • Cut up activities sheets, organize in date order and combine with family activities
  • Keep a file containing a list of members who offer their homes for activities; who are happy to be contact people for activities; whose homes are suitable for certain activities, i.e. small venues for "cosy coffee and chats" or PM Nights; addresses and phone numbers of outside activities/venues i.e. Theatre mailing lists etc.
  • Keep a yearly file containing activities for adult/family activities in our central district or Perth, i.e. Telethon Weekend, Festival of Perth etc.
  • Keep a record of expenses including all telephone calls (include reason for call, date etc.), photocopying, stamps etc. Hand in to Treasurer at monthly meeting to be reimbursed
  • Attend and report to monthly Branch meeting
