To provide a focal point for the gathering of activities which are primarily arranged for members and their families to attend together. Document the agreed activities gathering all relevant details by telephoning organisers.
Duties - Identify and gather ideas for activities which are suitable for members
- Seek input from members for activities
- Keep eyes and ears open for activities which come to your notice which are two and three months away and bring to Branch Meeting
- Attend monthly Branch/Activity Meetings at which ideas are evaluated and draft schedule for two months in advance if agreed
- Document the schedule taking particular note of suggested contact person, cost, special considerations, etc.
- Follow up on tentative activities arranged at the meeting:
- calling organisers where necessary
- making bookings (avoid payment of deposit if possible)
- identify a suitable contact person to be at the venue on the day
- Write up completed activity sheets in format required for submission to Head Office, President and Membership Secretary (i.e. 4 copies required), by end of the month. Pay particular attention to:
- exact location of activity with street names, house numbers, intersections, buildings where people are expected to meet;
- cost, keeping in mind that many PWP members are on extremely tight budgets with $20 being close to maximum cost for a parent and two children
- Proof read completed sheets and deliver to Head Office, President and Membership Secretary by the agreed submission date. The activity sheets MUST include other Branch Dances information.
- In the month of publication for the activities make sure the contact person is aware of the necessary equipment for an activity,
- blue balloon, candle, flag
- register
- cash tin if an activity is to be charged
- Attend and report to monthly meetings
- Have as much fun as you can possibly fit in!!
